From 2002-2006 we worked extensively to bring our approach of lighting & media integration into new arenas of work. Particularly interesting what the opportunities this approach presented to any TV or FIlm production that was either after a dynamic look, or had the requirement to reference digital content on-set.

In 2005 what we were doing caught the attention of MTV in New York and we were asked to design shows for the Times Square studio. Below is from a show called “Bonus Features Blowout”

Production Design for MTV in 2006, for this Christina Aguilera special we designed all facets of the show including how the cameras would shoot specific scenes of the show.

In 2004 we were asked by Nike to design a presentation environment for the launch of the “Art of Speed” launch at the Coachella music festival near Palm Springs, California. This was no easy task, both the time line and general conditions of a festival setting posed extreme limitations on what we could execute on-site. Nike creative staff in Oregon had initially asked us for something akin to a wind tunnel with a floating presentation screen. As the process moved forward we submitted several sketches outlining initial design ideas. As the time line was incredibly short, we could fabricate very little and had to rely on readily available temporary structures such as marquee tents and trussing normally used by stage lighting designers. In our final round of the design process we were informed by the festival that only standard marquee tents were allowed to be used by any and all sponsors on site, including Nike.
